Saturday July 30, 2011

It's been almost two weeks since Joan and I have visited a Tim Horton's. On July 15 Joan got an infection and was out of commission for about a week and half, which was unfortunate since her daughters Kristal and Jodi had been planning a surprise birthday party on July 16th to celebrate Joans 65th birthday.

For the past two months Kristal and I have working together to plan this surprise party for Joan. I worked on the invitation and the quest list so Kristal could work on the catering and a slide show. The party was to take place at Kristal's and Dale's place in Barrhaven and both sides of family were to attend, along with our aunts.

So on the day of the 16th only some of both families came along with a few of the aunts because the catering was already schedule and couldn't be cancelled with a financial loss. I had already ordered three bouquets of flowers, one for Joan, one for Joyce since her birthday was just one day after Joans and the third for Kristal for hosting the event.

After picking up the flowers I drove directly to Joans to give her her flowers. I'm not sure she even knew I was there she was so out of it due the drugs.

On Tuesday, July 19th, after my appointment with my neurologist I went to visit Joan. I brought in our Tim Horton's snack (two teas and a bagel) from the Tim Horton's on Hazeldean. After twenty minutes Joan became very tired, so I put her to bed and left.

I visited Joan again on Sunday, July 24th. Again I picked up our Tim Horton's snack (two teas and a bagel) from the Tim Horton's on Hazeldean. Again after about twenty minutes Joan got tired, so I put her to bed and left.

Lorna called and asked if we could switch days with Joan as she would be out of town and not returning till Sunday. She said she was in to visit Joan during the week and Joan appeared to be doing much better.

I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we went to Stittsville and went to the Tim Horton's on Main Street. We got our usual snack, two teas and a bagel, and then we drove around the corner to where the old flee market used to be and we parked under a tree and had our snack. We then drove around, found a new Tim Horton's on the Carp Road (which we can visit on our next outing)and after about forty minutes we went to the Main Street Cafe and split and bacon and fried egg sandwich.

When I took Joan home around 12:30 she hard time getting into the bed. She was very exhausted. I guess we were out just a little too long and Joan is still recovering and not 100% yet. Next Sunday will have to a shorter outing.
