Sunday April 18, 2010

Sunday April 18, 2010. I picked Joan up at 10:30 today. We're going to Manotick. We took 417 to 416 and got off at Bankfield Road.

We found the Tim Horton's and ordered our teas and bagel, and then we drove to the Long Island Mill to have our breakfast. We stayed for a while and I took some photos.

Then we went to the A.Y. Jackson Park (which is just across the Rideau River from the Mill) so I could take some photos of the river and the Mill.

Then we drove around town to see the sites. Joan and I both like churches and Manotick had two (2).

Then we headed to Stittsville and the Main Street Cafe for lunch; we had bacon sandwiched. then I drove Joan home around 1:30.

Thursday April 15, 2010

Thursday April 15, 2010. I picked Joan up at 10:30 today. Yes I know it's a Thursday, but I decided to surprise her and I did. Joan was real excited that we were going out in the middle of the week. We decided to go downtown and try out the Tim Horton's on Laurier Avenue that we couldn't get into last Sunday.

However, when we got downtown we couldn't find it, so either my list is out-of-date or it moved (but I would have sworn I saw one there, oh well). So we went to the Tim Horton's on Slater Street.

We went to the Supreme Court to have our teas and bagel.

Then we jumped on the Queensway and headed west to Woodroffe Avenue. We went to see my friend Anna and give her this old bird cage I had and was throwing away. I figured Anna could use it for her bird Gibson if she ever needed to take him to the vets.

We stayed at Anna's for about half an hour and then we went to the Colonnade Restuarant on Merivale Road for a Hawaiian pizza. We had our pizza in the parking lot and then I took Joan home around 1:00.

Sunday April 11, 2010

Sunday April 11, 2010. I picked Joan up around 10:30 this morning. We're headed to Tim Horton's on Bank Street south of Hunt Club. We took the 417 to the 416 and exited on Hunt Club and headed east till Bank Street and then south.

L ast week in Masson-Anger we won with "Roll-up-the Rim" (a doughnut), so ordered our teas and asked with if could use the cup to get our bagel, but they said "No". So we ordered a bagel and used the cup to get a cookie.

I was at this Tim Horton's when I was returning from Metcalfe and I stopped at the Giant Tiger to purchase some item. Well one of the items was too small so I thought since Joan and I haven't been there yet I thought I could kill two birds with one stone. So we went into the parking lot to have our tea and bagel and then I went into the store to make the exchange.

Then we headed back to the west end. We took Bank Street to Baseline and then the Experimental Farm Parkway to Island Park Drive and went to Esso for gas, then onto Tunney's so I could go the bank.

Then we went to Donna's Restaurant for a bacon sandwich to split. Then up Churchill to the Queensway and home around 1:00.

Thursday April 1, 2010

Thursday April 1, 2010. I picked Joan up today at 10:00 (a little earlier than usual). We're going to Masson-Angers in Quebec. We took highway 50 on the Quebec side. We got to Masson-Angers just at little after 11:00.

We found the Tim Horton's and ordered our usual tea and a multi-grain bagel with peanut butter. Today we won with the Roll-up-the-rim contest; we won a donut.

Then we drove around town to check the village. Both Joan and I have a fasination with churches and that is one word that Joan remembers and always says "church" when she sees one.

They also had these two very old water towers.

A
s we were driving around Masson-Angers we noticed a sign for a ferry. I knew there was a ferry near Hawksberry and Quyon, but didn't know there was a third one in the area. So we decided to take it and see where we come out on the Ontario side, and as it happens we ended up in Cumberland 27 km from Ottawa.

We arrived in Ottawa around 12:30 and we headed to Glenn's Chip Wagon for lunch. We had hotdogs and fries. Then we headed home to Kanata and arrived just after 1:00.
