Saturday September 10, 2011

I picked Joan up at about 10:30 this morning. We’re going back to Orleans to complete our visits to the Tim Horton’s in the area. We took the Queensway and got off at the Jeanne d’arc exit. The Tim Horton’s we were looking for was an “On the Run” on St. Joseph’s Blvd.

Since we could only get our tea there we then went to the other Tim Horton’s on Orleans Blvd. to get our bagel. Then we went up Orleans Blvd until we found this park where we stopped and parked underneath a tree to eat our snack.

Then I called my friend Teresa who lives in the neighbourhood and we went to pay her a visit. We stayed for about twenty minutes and then Joan and I got back on the Queensway and headed back to Ottawa. We got off at the Carling Ave. exit and taking Churchill headed to Donna’s Express to split a bacon and fried egg sandwich. I took Joan home around 1:20.

Sunday September 04, 2011

I picked Joan up at 10:45 this morning. We went back to Orleans again. Taking the Queensway we got off at the Orleans Blvd exit and Place d’Orleans was right there. We parked in a covered area (looked like it was going to rain), and I went in to the mall. The Tim Horton’s was on the 3rd floor in the food court. I got our usual, two teas and a bagel with peanut butter. Was back to the car in about 10 minutes. We ate our snack in the car.

Then we took a slow drive back to Ottawa via the Queensway and got off at the Carling ave. exit and headed to Donna’s Express where we split bacon and fried egg sandwich. I took Joan home around 12:45.

Sunday August 28, 2011

I picked Joan up at 10:45 this morning. We’re going to go to a Tim Horton’s in Orleans. We took the Queensway and got off at the Jeanne d’Arc exit and pull over into a strip mall. I brought my laptop so we could consult our listing of Tim Horton’s and pick one.

We called the Tim Horton’s on Waters Street (we’d been to it before but we don’t have a picture) but they didn’t answer, so we chose the one on Orleans Blvd.

We called and a kid named Josh gave us directions. Found the Tim Horton’s but it was and old one and didn’t have a drive through so I had to go in. Talked to a Josh and explained about my Sundays with Joan and took his picture, however he was the wrong Josh so talked to the other one and took his picture too.

We went up the street and parked in this school parking lot and ate our snack. We called Ola and Joan sang happy birthday to her. Called my friend Teresa who lives in Orleans, but no answer.

We got back on the Queensway and got off at the island park drive exit and went to Glenn’s chip wagon. We got hotdogs and a fry and when finished we headed home around 1:00. Joan was very tired.

Sunday August 21, 2011

Joan was ill on July 16th so she couldn’t attend the birthday celebration planned by her daughters. So today we are (the siblings) are getting together a Sharon’s to celebrate her 65th birthday.

I picked Joan up at 10:45 this morning and we headed to Sharon’s place. We had to find an alternative route since the Queensway east bound was like a parking lot. So we took Pinecrest to the Ottawa River Parkway. When we arrived, Sharon, Lorna and Joyce were already there. Barry and Marian arrived shortly after. We had our tea there since we didn’t visit a Tim Horton’s today.

For lunch we had ham, potatoes, a salad, wax beans and Joan’s favourite beets. We stayed until 1:30 and left because Joan was getting tired and she is currently on medication for another infection. We arrived at the home around 2:00.

Sunday August 14, 2011

I picked Joan up at 10:30 this morning. We’re going to the “On the Run” Tim Horton’s on Merivale Road. When we arrived I went in to get the two teas and then we went across the street to the other Tim Horton's to get our bagel (you can only get a beverage at the On the Runs).

We stayed in the shopping plaza parking lot to eat our snack. I almost got my telephone and the car radio synchronized but there was and error. So we drove to Future Shop but the installation area was closed. We drove around for a while and then we went to Donna’s express to split bacon and fried egg sandwich. I took Joan home around 12:30.

Wednesday August 08, 2011

I wasn't feeling well on Sunday so I didn't take Joan out and when I called her to tell her I wasn't coming in I told her I would see her on Wednesday. I picked Joan up at around 10:30 this morning. Last Sunday when we were out Joan and I noticed an new Tim Horton's on the Carp Road.

We ordered our usual (two teas and bagel with peanut butter) and then drove to the flee market and parked and ate our snack. While there I tried to experiment with my phone and the video function. I recorded Joan saying the days of the week, however when she was doing her numbers something happened and I couldn't get it to record properly.

Then we went for a long drive and then came back to Stittsville and went to the Main Street cafe and split a bacon sandwich. Then around 12:15 I took Joan home since she hasn't completely recovered from her last infection and she tires easily.

Saturday July 30, 2011

It's been almost two weeks since Joan and I have visited a Tim Horton's. On July 15 Joan got an infection and was out of commission for about a week and half, which was unfortunate since her daughters Kristal and Jodi had been planning a surprise birthday party on July 16th to celebrate Joans 65th birthday.

For the past two months Kristal and I have working together to plan this surprise party for Joan. I worked on the invitation and the quest list so Kristal could work on the catering and a slide show. The party was to take place at Kristal's and Dale's place in Barrhaven and both sides of family were to attend, along with our aunts.

So on the day of the 16th only some of both families came along with a few of the aunts because the catering was already schedule and couldn't be cancelled with a financial loss. I had already ordered three bouquets of flowers, one for Joan, one for Joyce since her birthday was just one day after Joans and the third for Kristal for hosting the event.

After picking up the flowers I drove directly to Joans to give her her flowers. I'm not sure she even knew I was there she was so out of it due the drugs.

On Tuesday, July 19th, after my appointment with my neurologist I went to visit Joan. I brought in our Tim Horton's snack (two teas and a bagel) from the Tim Horton's on Hazeldean. After twenty minutes Joan became very tired, so I put her to bed and left.

I visited Joan again on Sunday, July 24th. Again I picked up our Tim Horton's snack (two teas and a bagel) from the Tim Horton's on Hazeldean. Again after about twenty minutes Joan got tired, so I put her to bed and left.

Lorna called and asked if we could switch days with Joan as she would be out of town and not returning till Sunday. She said she was in to visit Joan during the week and Joan appeared to be doing much better.

I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we went to Stittsville and went to the Tim Horton's on Main Street. We got our usual snack, two teas and a bagel, and then we drove around the corner to where the old flee market used to be and we parked under a tree and had our snack. We then drove around, found a new Tim Horton's on the Carp Road (which we can visit on our next outing)and after about forty minutes we went to the Main Street Cafe and split and bacon and fried egg sandwich.

When I took Joan home around 12:30 she hard time getting into the bed. She was very exhausted. I guess we were out just a little too long and Joan is still recovering and not 100% yet. Next Sunday will have to a shorter outing.

Sunday July 10, 2011

I wanted to take Joan to Orleans today, since there are about six Tim Horton’s there and we only have pictures of two. However when I got on the Queensway at Kirkwood Ave. the eastbound traffic was down to one lane at the Carling Ave. exit and was backed up till Greenbank Ave.; it was like a parking lot. I picked Joan up at around 10:45 this morning.

Since the Orleans destination was out of the question I opened my laptop and we looked through our Tim Horton’s log (this is a word document where we list all the Tim Horton’s and indicated whether we have visited it and whether we have a picture). The log showed that we’d been to 2100 hunt club but didn’t have a picture, so that was our destination. I phoned and they said they were an “On the Run” which meant we’d need to go to another Tim Horton’s for the bagel. As it turn out there was another Tim Horton’s at 1665. Well I must be loosing it because as we reached the intersection of Hunt Club and
Bank Street I knew exactly where we were headed.

Since we came this far I figure to hell with it we’ll go to 2100 Hunt Club for the tea and 1665 Hunt Club for the bagel and we went back to 2100 Hunt Club to eat. I also decided that I would take a serious look at our Tim Horton log and my blog and my daily journal and make sure all three are up to date (especially the log). We didn’t want to go back on hunt club and since we were at Conroy we decided to take it and see where it led us. Evenly we ended up at Conroy and walkley road and I knew where we were so we took Walkley Road to Heron Ave. and Heron Ave. to Baseline Road and down through he experimental farm to Island Park Drive to
Richmond Road.

We went to Glenn’s chip wagon for hotdogs and fries for lunch. I took Joan home around
1:00.

Sunday July 03, 2011

I picked Joan up at around 10:00 today. We’re going to the Tim Horton’s in Embrun today. We took the 417 and got off on HWY 33 which took us to Embrun

We found the Tim Horton’s and ordered our tea and bagel. Then we drove down the street and parked along the side of the street under a shaded tree and ate our snack. We also stopped in at a garage sale but there wasn’t anything interesting so we left. We drove around a bit and then we head back to HWY 33 and the 417. We got off on Parkdale ave. exit and headed down toWellington Street heading for Richmond Road so we could go to Glenn’s chip wagon for lunch. As we approached we noticed Glenn's wasn’t there so instead we went to Donna’s Express to split bacon and fried egg sandwich.

I took Joan home around 12:30.

Sunday June 26, 2011

Sharon’s birthday is on Thursday June 29th so we’re having lunch at her place today. It’s just going to be us siblings (including Marian, who always comes).

I picked Joan up at around 10:45 and by the time I got Joan and her stuff into the car and put the chair in the trunk it was 11:00 before we got on the road. We arrived at Sharon’s around 11:30 and Joyce, Lorna and Sharon were already there. Joyce put the chair together for me. Then we went for a walk over to Barry’s and Marian’s new house. Barry and I brought Joan into the house (they have a lot of small steps in the new house). We all left Barry’s and Marian’s and headed back to Sharon’s. At around 12:30 we sat down for lunch. Sharon had made a ham, Barry a green salad and I made a potatoe salad. I also made a cake for desert, but as we were eating it Lorna and I and Joyce said that the cake wasn’t completely cooked.

Joan and I left around 2.45 and got home around 3:15. I came straight home.

Sunday June 19, 2011

I picked Joan up at 10:15 this morning. When I got there she was with the nurse getting her pills. Since its Father’s Day we are going to the grave yard (Notre Dame). We went to the Tim Horton’s on Donald Street in Vanier and order our usual tea and bagel. We then headed to the grave yard where we ate our snack.

The shrub at the grave site is still doing well but the hosta I planted last year didn’t survive. There were at lot of grassy looking weeds so I pulled them. We weren’t in a hurry and we had nobody to visit so instead of taking the Queensway to get back to the west end we drove up Rideau Street and onto Scott Street to go to Donna’s Express Restaurant to split a bacon sandwich.

I took Joan home around 12:35.

Monday, June 13, 2011

Sunday June 12, 2011

I picked Joan up at 10:30 this morning. According to my records we haven’t visited the Tim Horton’s at 2100 Hunt Club Road (well at least we don’t have a picture of it), so that’s where were headed.

When we finally found it we realised that we had visited it and it was an “On the Run”. So we pulled in a and took a picture and went to the Tim Horton’s up the street. The “on the Runs” don’t always have full service.

We got to the other Tim Horton’s and ordered our tea and a bagel and stayed in the parking lot to eat our snack. After that we went up the street to check a new housing construction site. Then we got back on hunt club and headed to
Kanata. At around Cederview Road we pulled over and ordered a pizza from the Colonnade, and then continued on through Bell’s Corners. We arrived at the Colonnade around 12:30 and ate the pizza in the parking lot.

Took Joan home around
1:00

Sunday June 5, 2011

I picked Joan up at 10:30 this morning. We’re going to the Tim Horton’s on the lower Aylmer road. We got there about 11:00. We’ve been to this Tim Horton’s before, but we’re going again because after visiting the Tim Horton’s we’re going to visit Sharon and show Joan, Barry’s and Marian’s new house.

We drove to Barry’s new house but no one was there so we went to Sharon’s place. We sat in the car and chatted and then shortly Marian arrived. She said she was on her way over to the new place. So Sharon got in her car and Joan and I followed. Barry came over to the car to talk with Joan and I went in to see how the paint job was. I was over on Thursday this week and Barry and I painted the living room, one wall in the dinning room and the hallways. It turned out nicely, Barry and Rian did second coats on Friday and Saturday.

Around 11:30 Joan and I left and we went to Donna’s express for to split bacon and fried egg sandwich. I took Joan home at 1:00.

Monday May 30, 2011

Yesterday was a miserable rainy day so I didn’t take Joan out, but I am going to see her today. We are going to go the Tim Horton’s in the Canada Post building on Riverside Drive.

I picked Joan up at 10.30 and we got on the Queens way and got off on Bronson Ave to Riverside Drive. We found the Tim Horton’s in the cafeteria which is in a small building just south (on Riverside Drive) from the Main Post Office. It didn’t have a drive through so I parked the car just besides the building and went in to order our teas and our bagel. Then we turned the car around and parked on the side of a street under a shady tree and ate our snack.

While there I called Paul to return his message he left on Friday. Then we left and took Riverside Drive and through the experimental farm to Carling Ave. Then down Carling Ave. to Holland Ave. so we could go to Hillary’s Cleaners on Wellington Street. I needed to drop my suit off to be cleaned.

Then we headed to Anna's place to say "Hello" and also put in an order for Joanne’s and my smokes. Then we headed back to Richmond road to have lunch (hot and fries) at Glenn’s Chip Wagon.

I dropped Joan off at 1:30.

Saturday May 21, 2011

Saturday May 21. I am going to pick Joan up and we are going to join our sisters Lorna and Sharon for lunch. I picked Joan up at around 10:15 and put her wheel chair in the car and we headed to Aylmer.

W e arrived at Sharon’s place around 11:00 and Sharon helped me put the chair together. Lorna arrived about 15 minutes later and we sat on the back patio and had our tea and chatted. Around 12:30 Sharon and Lorna made us lunch. We had ham and egg sandwiches. We all went for a walk to the river and then around the block to see the new construction in the area.

Around 1:30 I drove Joan home.

Friday May 13, 2011

Friday May 13, 2011. The weather channel says it’s going to rain all weekend so I’ve decided to take Joan out today. This way we can go to Carlton University an try another of the four Tim Horton’s.

I picked Joan up at 10:20 and we headed for Bronson ave. We had the map that the clerk gave us the last time we were at the campus so we were able to find the parking lot we needed and I was able to find the building where the Tim Horton’s was. We stayed in the parking lot to have our snack.

We left the campus and headed up Sunnyside Street to Bank Street looking for a flouriest. Stopped a lady on the side walk and she suggested Bellium’s on 4th ave. I went in and bought a bouquet of flowers for Irene as it was her 90th birthday on May 11.

Then we went to Pat and Irene’s. Irene wasn’t feeling well so I went to her bedroom to deliver the flowers and then Pat joined Joan and me outside for a visit. We stayed for about half an hour and then left. We went to Donna’s express to split a bacon sandwich. I drove Joan home around 1:00.

Sunday, May 8, 2011

Sunday May 08, 2011.

Sunday May 8. I picked Joan up at around 10:30 this morning. Since its mother’s day we’re going to mom’s grave. We went to the “On the Run” on MontrĂ©al road. They only had coffee/tea and donuts. So I made the tea and left and went back to the car which was parked in the Tim Horton’s across the street.

I kind of figured the "On the Run" wouldn't have bagels so that’s why we parked at the Tim Horton’s across the street because after giving Joan the teas I went in and ordered our bagel. The we went up the street to the grave yard and ate our snack. The grave looks good, the evergreen shrub is doing well, needs a slight trim which I ‘m will do when we came back for father’s day. However the plant, a hossta, died. We went for a drive and then went to the parkdale market to get Joan some flowers. Joan was a bit sad today, she thought she might spend some time with her daughter and grandchildren today, but they had to attend Mason’s gymnastic tournament. Then we went to Glenn’s chip wagon for hot dogs and a French fries, which we split.

Then around 1:00 I dropped Joan off at the nursing home. On entering the home we saw two beautiful dogs. The owner brought one of them to Joan so she could pet him (Travis).

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Sunday May 1, 2011

Sunday May 1. I called the Tim Horton’s first and found out the one I chose to go to today was located in the Billing’s Bridge Mall.

I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we headed to Riverside Drive. When we got to the mall I asked this lady if she was familiar with the mall and if so she knew where it was located. She told me and so we headed towards the entrance and found a disabled parking spot and I went into the mall. The Tim Horton’s was on the second floor. Tim Horton’s was having a special that when you but a coffee or tea the bagels were only $0.69, so since Joan and I always have a bagel with our tea I bought two. That was a bad idea, since Joan and I usually split the bagel we found that with two it was a bit too much.

We phoned Sharon’s friend Caroline who lives on Kilburn and she was home so we went and had a visit with her. It was a short visit as she had to leave to take her sister to the train station. We left and went for a drive. We drove past Ola’s place but she wasn’t home and neither was Anna.

So then we went to Donna’s Express and split a bacon sandwich. I took Joan home around 1:00.

Friday, April 22, 2011

Thursday April 21, 2011

Thursday April 21. This weekend is Easter and according to Kristal, Joan will be with her family; so I'm taking Joan out today. Before picking Joan up I called Carlton University to see where the Tim Horton's was located.

I picked Joan up at 10:30. As we approached the on ramp to the Queen's way at Castlefrank there was an OPP officer standing on the side of the ramp opposite his vehicle. We had no idea what he was doing there so we stopped. He didn't wave me to continue or to stop so we slowly approached and I rolled down the window and asked "what's up" and he said he was checking for seat belts and since we had ours on he said to go ahead.

We got off the Queen's way at Bronson Ave. and drove onto the university campus found Parking Lot #2. I entered the building and climbed 4 flights of stairs and when I got to the top I couldn't find the Tim Horton's. Found an information both and not only found out where the Tim Horton's was, but was told there were three other Tim Horton's on the campus. The women gave me a map of the campus and pointed out where each one was located. (So it looks like Joan and I will be going out during the week three more times.)

We stayed in the parking lot to eat our snack. I phoned my friend Pat to see if she was home so we could stop by for a visit but Irene said she was at the dentist in Billings Bridge Plaza. So we drove over there to see if we could catch her but we couldn't. So then we went to see if my friend Sheryll (who lives off Springfield) was home. No luck there either. So we phoned the Colonnade in Kanata and order a pizza

We got back on the Queen's way and headed for the Colonnade. We ate the pizza in the car and then I took Joan home at 1:00.

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Thursday April 14, 2011

Thursday April 14. When looking at the weather channel last night, they were calling for possible flurries on Saturday and Sunday and since I just put the summer tires back on the car; I decided to take Joan out today. Called Joan at 9:30 and told her I would be in today instead of Sunday and she agreed.

I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we took the queen ways to Riverside drive and up Smyth road to the General Hospital. Parked in the handicapped and went in to information and asked for direction to the Tim Horton’s and I had to walk to almost the back of the hospital. Found the Tim Horton’s and ordered two teas and a bagel. Went back to the car and we left and went down the road to have our snack. We called our aunt Alice and she and our cousin Mary were home so we went to visit with them. While Alice talked with Joan Mary and I talked about the new information I found about our family tree.

We stayed for about an hour and then we left and went to Glenn’s chip wagon to have a hot dog and fries for lunch. We finished lunch and then I took Joan home around 1:30.

Monday, April 11, 2011

Sunday April 10, 2011

Sunday April 10. I called Sharon this morning and told her Joan and I were going to the new Tim Horton’s in Aylmer. She said she would join us.

I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we headed to the Tim Horton’s on the Aylmer lower road. As we were pulling in Sharon was too, so I pulled up along side her and Joan recognised her car and was surprised.

I got out of the car and Sharon got in to chat with Joan. We didn’t use the drive through so I went inside to order our tea and bagel. While Sharon and Joan talked in the car I stood outside.

Then Joan and I drove just a few yards to the new construction site to check out the new homes they were building. Then we went to the other residential area just before the Champlain Bridge and checked out the homes there.

Then we went to Donna's Express restuarant to split a bacon and egg sandwich. I took Joan home by 1:45.

Monday, April 4, 2011

Sunday April 3, 2011

Sunday April 3. I picked Joan up at 10:15 today. We’re going to the Tim Horton’s on boul. St. Joseph in Hull today. And then we’re going to old Chelsea to meet Joyce, Lorna and Sharon. The three of them had a girl’s weekend in Wakefield at a bed and breakfast. So as a surprise to Joan we’re going to meet them and have lunch.

We took the 105 and got off on boul. St. Joseph and the Tim Horton’s was right there. We ordered our tea and a bagel and sat in the parking lot to eat.

Then back onto the 105 and ten minutes later we were in old Chelsea. We met up with Joyce, Lorna and Sharon but since it was very windy we decided to go back to Sharon’s house in Aylmer for lunch.

So we followed them and on Vanier road they turned into Tim Horton’s to by lunch and Joan and I proceeded to Sharon’s place. We all went for a walk first and then went back to Sharon’s for a light lunch of ham and cheese sandwiches.

We sat around in the front yard and had tea and chatted. Around 1:30 we left and I took Joan home.
