Sunday January 10, 2009. We’re having the sibling’s day today. Barry is coming to my place to help me get Joan since I just finished my therapy for my back this week (injured myself November 28, 2009) and I think it's too soon to try and put Joan in my car by myself.

Barry picked me up around 10:00 and we took my car because Marian (Barry's wife) isn’t joining us this year and she needs her car.

We got to Sharon’s just after 11:00. We we’re going to start breakfast shortly after we arrived but Joan needed a nap. She slept for maybe ½ hour and then got up. Lorna, Sharon and Joyce had made scrabbled eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. We had a nice quiet day sitting around talking family stuff.

We left around 2:30 and got Joan back to the nursing home about 3:00.

Sunday November 22, 2009. I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we went to Tim Horton’s in Vanier.

We called Chelsea and Chris and got their orders and went to visit them. We stayed for ½ an hour.

Then we went to Donna’s restuarant for our usual bacon sandwich. Took Joan home around 12.:30.

Sunday November 15, 2009. I Picked Joan up around 10:30 and we went to Gatineau. It was a long drive and shortly after we got there Joan got real tired. So we parked and after having the tea and bagel we turn around and went home.

Sunday November 8, 2009. I picked Joan up at 10:15 today. We went to the Tim Horton’s on Terminal Avenue.

Then we went to visit Aunt Alice and our cousin Mary was there too.

Then we went to Donna’s restuarnat for a bacon sandwich. I got Joan home by 12:30.

Sunday October 18, 2009. I Picked Joan up at 10:30 today.

We went to the Tim Horton’s in Aylmer and then we went to visit Barry and Marian. Then we went to see Sharon. Sharon gave me a bag to collect leaves so I could use it for my garden.

Dropped Joan off at 12:30 .

We went back to the Tim Horton’s on Bank Street because I made a mistake with the address the first time we were there.

Friday September 25, 2009. I picked Joan up at around 10:00 today and we went to the Tim Horton’s on Bank Street






Then we drove for awhile and then went to another Tim Horton’s on Hunt Club and then we went home.

Saturday September 19, 2009. Today is my birthday, I’m 57 today. We're having a birthday brunch at Sharon's house.

I picked Joan up a little after 10:00 today and we went to the Parkdale Market to buy some gladiolas for Sharon.

We arrived at Sharon’s just after 11:00. Lorna, Chelsea and Chris were already there. Barry and Marian arrived later and then Mark (Lorna's son).

It was a lovely brunch; Sharon and Lorna made three (3) quiches, ham and cheese, broccoli and ham, and broccoli, and asparagus. Barry and Marian made a Caesar salad, and Lorna made scallop potatoes. Chelsea and Chris bought the moose cake.

After brunch we went for a walk to the river and then came back and had the cake and tea.

I took Joan home around 2.30.

Sunday September 13, 2009. I I picked Joan up at 10.00 today. We went to Tim Horton’s on Montréal Road in Vanier. Called Chelsea and Chris but no answer.




We went to visit mom and dad at the graveyard and have our teas and bagel. Called Chelsea and they were home so we went to visit her and Chris.


We tried going for Chinese food on Carling Avenue but the restuarant was closed so we went to Donna’s restuarant for a bacon sandwich.

Then I took Joan home.

Sunday September 6, 2009. I picked Joan up around 10:00. today. We went to the Tim Horton’s on Hunt Club.

We drove around looking for something to do and then I realized we were close to where my friend Mamta lived. After some searching and asking questions of the neighbours we found her house.

Chatted awhile with Manta and Joan and then Mamta introduced me to her sister from England and her mother from India ,who were in town to celebrate the birth of Puja’s son (Mamta's oldest daughter).

Then we went to the Colonnade restuarant om Merivale Road and we had a Hawaiian pizza.

Drove Joan home around 12:30.

Sunday August 30, 2009. I picked Joan up around 10.:5 today. We weren't sure where we was headed but we got off the Queens Way on St. Laurent Blvd and we headed south looking for Hunt Club.

We finally ended up on McCarthy Road and saw Tim Horton’s. We drove down the road and stopped to have a breakfast.

Then we finally found Hunt Club east of Bank Street. So we stayed on Hunt Club and headed back to Bell’s Corners sfor lunch. Stopped a man and women on the street and said we were looking for a place to have lunch; they suggested Local Heroes.



So we were off to Local Heroes; we found it and we had a bacon sandwich. Then I took Joan home just after 1:00.

Sunday August 23, 2009 . I picked Joan up at a little after 10:00 today and we went downtown to Tim Horton’s on Laurier Avenue.

We went down Queen Elizabeth Drive and pull over on a side street and had our teas and bagel.

We continued on the drive along the drive way until we got to Glenn's chip wagon and had hotdogs for lunch. Then I took her back home.

Sunday August 16, 2009. I picked Joan up around 10:30 today and we went to the new Tim Horton’s "On the Run on" at the corner of Hazeldeaan Road and Eaglesonside Road.





We drove around Stitisville looking at some of the new homes and then we went to Main Street Cafe restuarant for a bacon sandwich.

When we got back to the nursing home some one had taken Joan's wheel chair thinking it was a courtesy chair. It took almost 15 minutes to finally find the people who had taken it and maenwhile poor Joan is getting upset and she's tired.

Friday August 14, 2009. Got a call from Kristal called me last night and asked if I would take Joan out on Friday as opposed to Sunday, since Joan will be a her place that day.

I picked Joan up a little after 10:00 and we headed to Carleton Place off Highway 7.

We stopped at the first Tim Horton’s and had teas and a bagel. We then headed into town to take in the sites. We stopped off on the side of the road near a corn stand to buy some corn-on-the-cobs.



Then we drove around town and stopped in a park to look at the river that runs through the town; apparently it’s the Mississippi.




We then went to the second Tim Horton’s and Joan had an ice cappuccino and I had tea and we shared a bagel in the park along the Mississippi.




We got back to Kanata around 12:15 and I dropped Joan off.

Sunday August 9, 2009. Picked Joan up at a little after 10. 00 today and we went to the Tim Horton’s on Carling Avenue.

We sat in the parking lot next door and had our tea and bagel.

Phoned Joanne and went to see her to show her my new car. She cut her hair real short; it looks good. She’s said she was off to her niece’s to dye her hair purple. Nicholas (her son) came out on his balcony to say hello and showed him the car too.

We left Joanne and went to Stitsville to the Main Street Café restuarant for a bacon sandwich.

Thursday August 6, 209. Going to take Joan out today and surprise her with the new car. Joan was already down in the lobby for some function so I went upstairs and got the board and her glasses and hat. And before we were out the doors she noticed the new car and was all excited.

We phoned Kristal, but there was no answer so we headed towards Fallowfield Road anyway. We went to Tim Horton’s and had our usual. .Called my friend Lori who worked in the area so we went to visit her and show her my new car.

Phoned Kristal again and she was home this time, so we went there to show her and the kids my new car. While there Kristal made Joan and I chicken sandwiches.


Then Dale arrived so he got to see the new car too. Then we went home.

Sunday July 26, 2009. On my way to pick upt Joan today Kristal and Dale and the kids came off the Hwy 416 and drove along side of me on Hwy 417; they were on their way to visit an friend and got off on Eagleson Side Road.


Joan and I went to the Tim Horton’s on Carling Avenue. We then went to see my friend Anna.

Then we went to Donna’s arestuarant and had a bacon sandwich. .

Sunday July 5, 2009. Picked Joan up at 9.45 and we headed to Rockland so we could go to one Tim Horton’s and have breakfast at one and then go to the other for lunch.


We got to Rockland around 10:30 and we drove around looking for the second Tim Horton's since the fist one was right off the highway when you enter Rockland and we decided to go to that one for lunch when we were leaving Rocland.

We found it and got our teas and bagel. We went to an old parking lot under a tree and had our breakfast.


We went to the other Tim Horton’s for lunch. We ordered some kind of egg and bacon things which were terrible.

We then drove home.

Wednesday July 1, 2009.

Wednesday July 1, 2009. Called Kristal and told her I was going to take Joan out today since I missed last Sunday. I picked Joan up at 10.30 and we went to Tim Horton’s on St. Laurent Blvd. and got our usual, teas and a bagel.

We then went to the graveyard; it was the anniversary of mom’s death.

We phoned Chelsea and Chris and they were at her mother’s but were heading home, so we went to another Tim Horton’s on Montreal Road for another bagel. Then we went to meet Chris and Chelsea at their apartment.


Then we went to Donna’s restuarant for a bacon sandwich which we split. Then I took Joan home around 1.30.

Sunday June 21. Going to see Joan today. It’s been two weeks since I’ve seen her since getting bronchitis.

I picked Joan up at 10.30 and we were off to Tim Horton’s in Vanier on Montreal Road. Then we went to the grave yard since today is father’s day. Called

We drove around a bit and then went to Glenn’s chip wagon for hot dogs and french fries.

Monday June 1, 2009. I picked Joan up at 10.30 and we went to the Tim Horton’s on Eagleson Road.

Next we went to the superstore to see if I could find a colysis plant for Joan.


Then we went to Stittsville and the Main Street Café for a bacon sandwich. We got back just a little after 12.00. I planted the plant for Joan, made her bed and then put her in it.

After that we phoned and Aunt Alice and went to see her for a while. We left Aunt Alice’s and went to Glenn’s chip wagon for hotdogs and french fries.

Sunday May 17, 2009. It’s cold and miserable and looks like it’s going to rain, so think I’ll go to Tim Horton’s on Edgwater and we'll stay in today.

Joan looked very disappointed when I walked in with the teas and bagel; she was expecting me to take her out.

Saturday May 9, 2009. I'm going to take Joan out today as opposed to Sunday so Joan can be with Kristal and the kids.

I picked Joan up at 10.15 and we went to the Tim Horton’s in Vanier on Montreal Road.

We then went to the grave yard to see mom and dad. We had our coffee/tea and the bagel. Tried phoning Chelsea (Barry's daughter) since she and Chris live in Vanier and we wanted to see their new apartment but they didn't answer.

After that we went to Donna's restuarant and split a bacon sandwich and then I took Joan home. She was really tired.

We went to the Tim Horton’s on Innes Road. Then we went to visit our Aunt Geraldine. We were there for a good ½ hour.

Then we went to Glenn’s chip wagon for hotdogs and rench fries, and then home.

Sunday April 26, 2009. I picked Joan up at 10.15 and we headed for the Tim Horton’s on Merivale Road. We then phoned Barry and Sharon and told them we were on our way out there. The lower road was closed for some reason so we had to take the upper road.

We went to Sharon’s house first because Lorna was going to be there. Sharon and Lorna were going to Quyon to see Brian and Chrissie’s new baby Brooke. (Joyce's new grandchild)

Next we went to Barry’s to pick up my stuff I left there at Easter.

Then we went to Glenn’s chip wagon for hotdogs and french fries and then home. Joan was really tired.

Then we went to Giant Tiger on Wellington Street so I could get some things I needed.

Saturday April 11, 2009. It's Easter weekend so I'm taking Joan out to today so that I can go to Barry’s tomorrow for Easter dinner and Joan can go and spend Easter Sunday with her daughter Krisal and her three (3) grandchildren, Joshua, Mason and Avery.

We went to the Tim Horton’s on Richmond Road and then we went to Paul and Lorna’s house. Their son Michael and his wife Carmen and their duaghter Maeve came down from Toronto for Easter. We had our tea and bagel there and I went to see their basement that they had finished.

We left and then went to have hot dogs and chips at Glenn’s chip wagon and then I took Joan home. She was very tired.

Saturday April 4, 2009. Lorna called me during the week and asked me to switch days with her because she wanted join Joyce and her grandchildren. who were going to be in Aylmer on Sunday at the bowling alley to celebrate Darren’s birthday (Joyce's grandson).

I picked Joan up at 10:30 and we went to Tim Horton’s on Carling Avenue. We then went to the Ottawa River Parkway and watched the ducks, geese and seagulls.


Then we went to Donna’s resturant for lunch to have bacon sandwiches.

Sunday March 29, 2009. I picked Joan up around 10:30 and we went to the Tim Horton’s on Vanier Road in Aylmer. I had received some mail for Barry during the week so we headed to his place for a visit and drop off the letter.

After visiting with Barry we went to say hello to Sharon (who lives aound the corner from Barry) . Sharon's friend Suzanne from Toronto was visiting.

We then went to Donna’s restuarant to have bacon sandwiches and then I took her home.

Tuesday March 24, 2009. I picked Joan up at 10:30 this morning. We tried to go to the Tim Horton’s on Booth Street in the Environment Canada complex but you have to be an employee to go in, so we went downtown. We went to the Tim Horton's on Bank Street.

We went for a drive around downtown and then we headed to Glenn's chip wagon for hot dogs and french fries for lunch.

Sunday March 15, 2009. Joan was at the Walter Baker centre watching her grandson Joshua playing hockey so I picked her up there today.

We went to Tim Horton’s on Greenbank Road. After we went to visit my friend Lori. Then we went to Donna’s for bacon sandwiches.

Sunday March 8, 2009. Woke up at after 9 o’clock today. We switched the clocks last night and I guess I forgot to change the alarm clock.


When I arrived at the nursing Joan was at the elevator waiting for me and when the doors opened she pointed at me and laughed. She said she was on the other side of the floor and saw me coming over the bridge.

We went to Tim Horton’s on Basline Road today. After we drove around and then went to Donna’s for bacon sandwiches.

Sunday February 22, 2009. When I awoke this morning it was snowing badly and I wasn’t sure whether to take Joan out, but as I was driving to the nursing home it stopped. So we went out but not too far.

We went to the Tim Horton’s in Stittsville and then drove around a new development to look at the new homes being built. .

For lunch we went to the Main Street Cafe restaurant for bacon sandwiches and then I took Joan home. Before leaving the nursing home I went to the kitchen and the chef Roy emptied a large jar of beets and cleaned it for me. We’re going to use it to keep the extra peanut butters we get each time we order a bagel.

On my way home I stopped in at the Superstore and returned the thermoses I bought two (2) weeks ago. We're just having too much trouble with them dripping all the time.

Sunday February 15, 2009. Before picking Joan up today I went to the Superstore to exchange one of the thermoses I bought yesterday since the top on one of them wouldn't close properly and it always dripped when Joan used it.

I decided, regardless of the quarantine status, I was taking Joan out today since she hadn’t been out for over one (1) month; and besides the she wasn't infected with the virus.

We went to the Tim Horton’s on Navaho Drive. We then went to visit my Anna who lives in the neighbourhood.

We had lunch at Donna’s restaurant, and then we went home.
