Sunday August 29, 2010

Sunday August 29, 2010. It's a beautiful day today so I think Joan and I should take a nice long drive. I picked Joan up around 10:30 this morning and suggested we go to Arnprior. (Prior to picking Joan up I google Tim Horton's +Arnprior and found out there were 2 and I phoned and both were opened)

We took the 417 and arrived just shortly after 11:15 and found the first Tim Horton's and we ordered two teas and a bagel. We went down the road looking for a shady spot and found one just in front of some farm.

(St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church)

After finishing our tea and bagel we starting driving around town to see what Arnprior had to offer. Since both Joan I like churches we started looking for them. The first church was a Presbyterian.

(The Angelican Church of Canada - Emmanuelle Church)

Next was an angelican church.

(Grace St. Andrew's United Church)

Then a united church.

We continued to drive around looking for the the catholic church (surely they had one). Meanwhile we took in some of the other old buildings in town. We went down to the marina to view the river and bridge.

We found the downtown area.

We finally found the catholic church on the highest hill in the town (of course).

(St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church)

It was getting close to lunch time so we started looking for the other Tim Horton's and as we were doing that we ran across an intersection of the streets Victoria and ALbert. (I find it interesting when you found intersection with names that have some reference to famous people, for example Ottawa has and intersection named Bonnie and Clyde)

We found the other Tim Horton's and we oredered and ice tea and Joan had a ham and swiss cheese sandwich and I had an egg salad. We spoke with the clerk Tamara about being from Ottawa and how we visit all the Tim Horotn's in the Ottawa and surrounding area.

It was a long day so we headed home and arrived around 2:30.
